In honor of Earth Day, the Bronx River Alliance is teaming up with United by Blue for a cleanup at Soundview Park.
Also called the “Gateway to the Bronx River” Soundview Park’s stunning waterfront green space sits at the union of the Bronx River and East River. The park stretches for 205 acres, and is an epicenter of activity offering soccer and baseball field, basketball courts, a running track, and an amphitheater, not to mention the beautiful walking/biking trail that stretches throughout the space. The rocky banks provide amazing views of the river and surrounding land, and the tidal marsh area is vital to wildlife.
Unfortunately, as trash and debris get carried down the river, it often gets stuck in the rocks and threatens the health of the water and animals. Please help us to celebrate Earth Day, and clean up the banks of the Bronx River at Soundview Park!
A shuttle will be available for volunteers from the Morrison & Soundview Station (6 train) to Soundview Park between 8:15 am – 9 am.
