The RWS route of NYC Ferry provides a key transit link connecting the Rockaways, Sunset Park, the Bronx, and Lower Manhattan. It serves both commuters and recreational travelers, giving access to beaches and vibrant neighborhoods along the East River.

Rockaway-Soundview: Weekend Supplemental Service

Due to high demand, supplemental beach service is running on weekends. Depending on the time, some vessels serve all stops, while others only run between Rockaway, Sunset Park, and Wall Street. Please check the schedule accordingly.

Free Shuttle Bus

  • Beginning Monday, October 24, 2022, the Ferry Point Park Shuttle Service will operate on a new schedule: Monday – Friday from 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM and from 3:00 PM until the final NYC Ferry arrival/departure.
  • Please note that the shuttle will not operate between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM or on weekends. Riders may still access the parking lot via the path.
  • This shuttle operates on a first-come, first-served basis and departs approximately 10 minutes before each ferry departure.

Bus Lines B11 and B37

The B11 stops at 58th Street and 1st Avenue. The waterfront is a short walk from there. The B37 stops at 58th Street and 3rd Avenue. Walk west on 58th Street three blocks toward the elevated expressway and the waterfront.

 

Train
The NYC Ferry Landing at Brooklyn Army Terminal/Sunset Park is a short walk from the N and R lines – 59th Street stop in Brooklyn. Exit the subway on 58th Street. Walk west on 58th Street one block toward the elevated expressway and the waterfront. Continue down 58th Street until you arrive at the waterfront.

Car
Use 140 58th St, Brooklyn, NY 11220 for GPS navigation to the Brooklyn Army Terminal/Sunset Park. There is free public parking available on Pier 4 for BAT visitors and Ferry riders. Parking may be occasionally limited due to special events.

Rockaway Shuttle Bus: Summer Schedule (effective 5/18/26)

Capacity on the Rockaway Weekend Shuttle Buses is significantly limited. Please take the Q22 MTA bus, which runs every 10 minutes on weekends during the day and can be picked up just two blocks south of the landing at Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Beach 108th Street.
