Van Brunt Distillery

6 Bay Street, Redhook, Brooklyn
Saturday: 2-9pm
Sunday: 2-6pm

Opened 5 years ago, this whiskey distillery creates the most delicious flavors of rye, bourbon, Single Malt and American blends in-house on Bay Street in Redhook. Whether you are in the mood to duck in for a delicious house cocktail or for the full tour, you are in for a true treat!

The owners of the distillery, Sarah and Daric, are incredibly passionate master distillers who know their whiskey and moonshines like the back of their hand. From the loading in of the New York grown grains, throughout the fermenting process to the final steps of bottling and labeling, Van Brunt Stillhouse’s spirits are made in the distillery, steps from the rustic, yet modern tasting room. For more info and tour times, please visit their Van Brunt Distillery Van Brunt Distillery!

Get excited, because in the Summer of 2017 NYC Ferry By Hornblower will be able to take all you Manhattanites to the Van Brunt Distillery by simply boarding a ferry at Pier 11, right next to the South Street Seaport for the same price as a simple Subway ride. Our ferries will be departing from 06:30am to 10:00pm on the South Brooklyn Route. So, simply get off at the Red Hook stop, walk a few blocks and enjoy all that the Van Brunt Distillery has to offer. Oh, and on the way back to the ferry, don’t forget to check out Red Hook Lobster Pound!

Fall Forest Weekends

New York Botanical Garden
11am – 4pm

Hurry out to New York’s green areas to witness this year’s last moments of fall foliage by foot, bike, or even canoe! The Botanical Garden’s tours cover anything from bird demonstrations to a live wildlife DJ (yes, really!), namely the researcher and explorer Ben Mirin, who creates music from sounds he records in nature.

New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx celebrates this fall month with great tours of the Thain Family Forest, which is the largest remaining tract of old-growth forest in New York City, and whether you are looking to explore a new way to enjoy the forest or simply a calm canoe ride, this is the place to go! For more information, visit the garden’s website here.
