‘Descension’ Art Installation
Do you feel something vibrating at the Brooklyn Bridge Park? It might be the new pool exhibit. This giant whirling pool is one more reason to take the ferry to DUMBO and enjoy the artistic culture of this area. This art installation is 26-feet in diameter and will be displayed all summer until September 1st for free. Hop on the NYC Ferry with a bike and explore the area. Taco Takedown competition 2017
Taco Sunday? Come load up on tacos at the TakeDowns Competition in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Cooks from all over NYC will gather together at the Brooklyn Bazzar from 2-4pm on Sunday, May 21st to delight you with all types of taco fillings. This northernmost neighborhood, often been referred to as Little Poland, has a large Polish-American community, so there is plenty to explore. Take the NYC Ferry East River Route to the Greenpoint Landing from Pier 11/Wall St or 34th St, and from there it is a short 10 minute walk to the tacos of your dreams. Don’t forget to buy your tickets at ferry.nyc prior to boarding.

Dance Parade & Festival
Looking for something more exciting to do in NYC this weekend? Join the crowd at 21st St & Broadway from 1-3pm to enjoy the beautifully crafted floats, live bands and DJs taking part in the 11th annual dance parade, then stay from 3-7pm for the DanceFest at the Tompkins Square Park. Women x Women Art Fair
Celebrate art at the Women Art Fair from May 19th to June 2nd, a discovery based art-tour in the Lower East Side (Manhattan) highlighting the emerging female artists of New York. The starting point will be at Tictail Market @ 90 Orchard St., and guided tours of the murals will be held every hour from 1pm-4 pm. Make sure to join the Saturday tour, which will end with a celebration of food, drinks, and dancing at the Hester Street Fair (Ticktailevents.com).

Union Square Park Adoptapalooza
Puppies or cats? If you’ve been thinking about adding a new member to the family this is your chance. From 12pm-5pm, Union Square Park will hold an Adoptapalooza with 300 dogs and cats to adopt. But it doesn’t stop there, bunnies will also be at the park waiting for a new family to release their love on them. “The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals and the Petco Foundation partnered with more than 30 organizations and shelters to help find homes for hundreds of rescue animals” (Giannotta, AM NewYork). Head to Union Square this weekend, and hear the stories of this rescue animals, win prizes, and more.
