New York Shakespeare Festival
What do you know about the great Roman politician and known author of Latin prose? Julius Caesar played an important role in the events that led to the fall of the Roman Republic and the rise of the great Roman Empire. From May 23rd to June 18th, the New York Shakespeare Festival will be playing Shakespeare in the Park’s Julius Caesar (off-broadway). The event is free, but tickets still need to be acquired. Queens Book Festival
Love books? This is your chance to mingle with other lovers of literature and explore new and exciting books from over 100 authors and hundreds of exhibits. The Queens Book Festival is a popular project begun by Queens’ residents in the fall of 2014. Movie Under the Stars
Enjoy an outdoor movie screening this long weekend at Randall’s Island this Sunday. Admission to the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is free, but make sure to bring snacks and a blanket for comfort. Screening begins at 8:30 p.m.. Official Opening of NYC Beaches

Fleet Week NYC
A parade of ships pulled into New York Harbor on may 24th. Five Navy vessels, four Naval Academy yard patrol boats, two U.S. Coast Guard cutters, and one ship from the Royal Canadian Navy made their way up the Hudson River. The festival will continue through Memorial Day at the Intrepid Museum in Pier 86 and will include a set of activities, events, and performances. Don’t miss it.
