Brooklyn Horror Film Festival (Williamsburg and Bushwick, Brooklyn)
Get your blanket and hoodies readies as this film festival is sure to leave you anything but in your seat. The festival is open to the public and to those who simply love film. The films aren’t all horror related, as there is Sci-Fi, Dramas, Documentaries, and yes even comedy!
The festival features Q&A’s with filmmakers, various guest panels, as well as food and wine samplings. Even Stranger Things Party at Lot 45 (Bushwick, Brooklyn)
Expect the unexpected at Lot 45 as Brooklyn gets ready for a night of 80’s nostalgia. Costume contests and even a BMX giveaway is set to happen. Candlelight Ghost Tours (Manhattan, NY)
The Merchant House Museum is recognized as National Historic Landmark. Located in Greenwhich Village, SoHo and NoHo, the 184-year old home is the only nineteen century home to be preserved. Said to be ‘Manhattan’s Most Haunted House’ by the New York Times, the stories of the home have spooked visitors for years. Although the ghost tours are sold out this year, tours are offered from January to June. Throughout the month of October, Spirited Events occur and must be reserved in advance. Scream the 20th Anniversary Halloween Party ( Williamsburg, Brooklyn)
Can you believe it has been 20 years since Scream made its debut in theaters scaring audiences across North America? This throwback Halloween event presented by Music Video Time Machine and Rough Trade NYC offers a night of 90s music and throwbacks with classic horror movie trailers. Haunted Lantern Tour at Fort Totten (Queens, NY)
Fort Totten is a hot spot for locals and visitors wishing to take in the historical buildings, recreation and special events. For two nights in October (Oct 28th and 29th), visitors will flock to the historical site for their famous Haunted Lantern Tours.
