Summer may have come to an end, but it’s still time to get out and #cruiseyourcity. This week we’re heading to Astoria! Here is a list of 8 things to do along our Astoria Route. Enjoy the first fall weekend with NYC Ferry.

Museums

Take a trip to the Museum of the Moving Image this weekend and see the Behind the Screen exhibit. It displays artifacts, computer-based interactive experiences, audio-visual material, and commissioned artworks. Also, visit the Jim Henson Exhibition featuring a broad range of objects used throughout his career. It reveals how Henson and his team of builders, performers, and writers brought the enduringly popular worlds of The Muppet Show, the Muppet movies, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth, to life.

The Museum of the Moving Image is located near our Astoria Landing

Want to spend the day learning about history through art? Visit the Morgan Library & Museum and browse their current exhibitions: Pontormo: Miraculous Encounters; Medieval Monsters: Terrors, Aliens, Wonders; Wayne Thiebaurd, Draftsman; Rivers and Torrents: Oil Sketches from the Thaw Collection; A Merchant Ivory Production: Highlights from the James Ivory Collection; Pierpont Morgan’s 1906 Library; Treasures from the Vault; Sol LeWitt’s Wall   552D.
