Drag Queen Story Hour is just what it sounds like—  drag queens reading stories to children. Through storytelling and creativity, DQSH provides a range of fun and fabulous educational experiences, teaching children about gender diversity and all forms of difference to build empathy and give kids the confidence to express themselves however they feel comfortable.

 

Pride Live Stonewall Day 2023

This year, Pride Live honors the everyday heroes, and that includes you! The LGBTQ+ community is full of trailblazers, trend makers, and fierce advocates that make history every day, even if it’s just by showing up. And that’s something to applaud. So, join Pride Live on June 23, 2023 at Hudson Yards, for another incredible year of celebration and queer joy. Featuring performances by Christina Aguilera, Resident DJ Lina Bradford, Mila Jam, Betty, Mariyea, and more.

 

Hester Street Fair Pride Market

The Hester Street Fair’s annual Pride Market dedicates its entire roster to showcasing businesses owned and operated by members (and a few allies) of the LGBTQIA+ community. With over 50 LGBTQIA+ businesses, artists, cooks, DJs, and performers participating, Hester Street Fair takes great pride in organizing our 4th Pride Market. This event serves as a celebration and tribute to queer history, legacy, support, and empowerment. Each year, we shine a spotlight on a different segment of the community, and this year, we are delighted to highlight and extend our support to our South Asian LGBTQIA+ friends and family.

 

Brooklyn Americana Music Festival

June 24th, 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM

The 9th Annual Brooklyn Americana Music Festival (BKAMF) returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park in celebration of NYC Pride on Saturday, June 24.  Throughout the day, the free family-friendly festival presents live music from LGBTQ artists, including a bluegrass jam session a the Flower Field, a buskers stage, a ‘make your own rainbow flag’ art parade, and main stage at Liberty Lawn. Refreshments, beer, and wine will be available for purchase. Bring a picnic blanket to lounge on the lawn and enjoy the show!

 

Gitter Therapy Drag Bingo Brunch

Pride Island

Pride Island takes place at Brooklyn Army Terminal with Christina Aguilera as the headliner. Pride Island caps off the excitement of Pride Week with an array of exuberant dancing, lights, and music. Billboard #1 Remixer and Indie Music award nominee Guy Scheiman (Tel Aviv) featuring Karina Kay, and the New York City debut of resident DJ at Forever Tel Aviv Mor Avrahmi (Tel Aviv), who will man the turntables and keep the crowd grooving into the night. Enjoy food, interactive experiences, and more at Brooklyn Army Terminal! Sing, dance, and celebrate alongside the LGBTQIA+ community.

Teen Thursdays @ Adams Street – Pride Art and Buttons

Calling all teens and tweens! Join the Adams Street Library every Thursday starting on June 8th for arts & crafts, games, and more – a different activity each week! On Thursday, June 8th, kick-off LGBTQ+ Pride Month with music and art in their multipurpose room.  Learn how to use the library’s button maker to design and press your own 1.5 inch pin-back buttons to show your pride! All supplies will be provided.

 

Books Are Magic: Pride Fest (Montague Location)

Flagship Clear Comfort Beer Launch and Fundraiser

Join the Alice Austen House in celebrating Pride with the launch of their special edition beer, Flagship Clear Comfort. This event is a fundraiser supporting the preservation and promotion of the Alice Austen House, a historic LGBTQ+ site. A special Father’s Day edition of Drag Story Hour NYC on Sunday, June 18th. Bring your dad, bring your friends, and bring your favorite stuffed animal. Treats will be provided by Magnolia Bakery. We’ll read fantastic new books together and kids can reconnect with their favorites. Great for kids 4 to 8, but all ages are welcome. We look forward to seeing you! No RSVP is required.
